There isn’t much information about Palace of Moon-like Stars, or Emir’s Summer Palace or Sitori Mohi Hosa. But my friend and I liked the pictures we saw, and the review on Tripadvisor seemed to be promising. (And also because we had free time).
It turned out to be fun and well worth the trip. The surrounding is very green and pleasant. We were probably the only tourists there (probably because this Emir didn’t have the same fame as Tamir, haha). We enjoyed the garden of this palace.
Our arrival was welcomed by some peacocks who were not afraid of mankind and a cute kid we wanted to kidnap.
The palace is modern, built by Russians for the last Emir around 1914-1918. It’s nice to look at something newer for a change. Can you see the symbol of Star of David in the windows? It surprised me!
Having a fountain in the courtyard is a nice idea. In the background is a mosque. (Hence the fountain for washing up). This makes the existence of star of David very bizarre.
The hall of the palace. (It looks Russian here). The palace is now a museum.
It’s interesting to look at the walls, furnitures and articles. It’s sort of a fusion of many cultures not restricted to Russian and Uzbek. I think it has a lot of Asian cultures.
The colorful mirrored ceilings!
A fusion of Islam and Judaism.
Gilded walls.
Painted walls (I think). It looks Korean to me, somehow.
And this looks Mughal to me.
Chinese?
Articles from Japan or China.
Just in case you wonder what people used to wear in Uzbekistan.
And how they looked like. (With hukah!)
I was pretty surprised with what I saw in the museum. So Bukhara was pretty well connected with Asia! I t was an interesting trip.
And there was another pavilion/residence in the garden. It wasn’t open for visit though.
If you look at the stone sculptures, what did they look like to you? Well, the sculpturist had never seen lions, so it was his interpretation of lion (which looked more like a dog).
If the weather is nice, this is a nice place to explore! 1-2 hours will be sufficient! It’s not a must see, and you need to take a taxi or public transportation to get down here (but easy). If you have time, then add this to your trip!
