I thought this would be an expensive restaurant, and so when I saw it for the first time I didn’t bother to look at the price. But then my brother saw their coupon, and it was unbelievably affordable!
So from the coupon we had a great lunch with homemade kvass (malt beer), three pizzas! Fish and ships and some fried chicken with fries. This all came under $19.4! For 4 people, it was an unbelievable good deal! We were actually eating in a restaurant!
And while they didn’t have many customers (we went in June… before summer holiday started I suppose) everything was really good, I really liked it.
Oh, and we liked it so much that we went back the same day for dinner. We tried herring…. and well, it’s an acquired taste. I didn’t enjoy herring that much but the rest was still very good!
Of course you may also order from their menu. It’s beautifully presented. So again I’m shocked that they don’t have a good rating on TripAdvisor. That’s just weird.
I happened to have a fried chicken that wasn’t thoroughly cooked (in my standard the meat was still raw), and after I told the waiter, the kitchen staff came out to apologize! (Oops.) And she offered us to remake this dish or a dessert. I wanted to eat this dish so I asked for it….. But she gave us a whole dish including the side dishes like wedges and salads. I was really impressed.
The downside of this restaurant might be they only have 1 toilet. Otherwise I don’t see the reason not to choose this place.
And if you plan on visiting Riga, just sort of mark this place. You’ll find it very close to the Dome Square. And if coupons are not available, don’t worry you’ll still find cheap deals there! Enjoy!
And you have to try their kvass!
