Visiting 15 attractions in 72 hours was very tiring. And writing about those places I went felt redundant. I felt reluctant to write it down but now I feel happy for making a full record of what I did.
I started my 72 -hour Copenhagen Card at noon from the airport, so on the 4th day, I had time to visit my last attraction before going back to the airport. And The Blue Planet (National Aquarium Denmark) is located in Kastrup.
It’s a 22 minutes walk (1.7 km) from the aquarium to the airport. Or if your Copenhagen Card is still valid, take bus 5A.
Den Blå Planet-My #15 Attraction with Copenhagen Card
I had some expectation for this aquarium because it’s new and it’s in Denmark. However after reading its reviews on TripAdvisor, I decided that I shouldn’t have any expectation. So I wasn’t really disappointed nor surprised.
I knew the place was small, but my main concern was whether this attraction would fit in my itinerary. And my concern was my luggage. So let me share my experience.
About Luggage
Copenhagen is tourist-friendly, and almost all attractions in Copenhagen has a free locker room. But the question is, how big is the locker at the aquarium? The answer is, it has all sizes, like the larger ones and medium ones you see in train station. If you have lots of luggage with you, go there early. Your check-in size luggage will fit. Don’t worry!
My Experience
And well, the aquarium is new, but it’s really small. It nice though but it feels like an aquarium designed for 12 and under. Not that it’s a bad thing, but if you don’t have kids, I don’t recommend spending 169DKK ($26) to enter this place. I finished looking at everything in 1 hour, and that’s weird considering how much I love aquariums! (I spent more than 3 hours in Manly Sea Life Sanctuary in Sydney… most people get out in an hour or so). But if you have Copenhagen Card, and there aren’t other attractions that interest you, then maybe this aquarium would not be a boring place.
There’s a cafeteria in the aquarium. Needless to say how expensive it is, but I truly love Danish designs. After visiting so many touristy places, I know for sure that I will spend more time to appreciate designs in the city instead.
