Which day was the hardest?
On Day 3 from Tadapani to Bethani was really hard for me that I felt I was gonna die. For people who do clockwise I’d say from Ulleri to Tikhedunga as there must have been 1000 steps of stairs.
Will I Trek Poon Hill Again?
For sure, yes! I really miss the tea houses now. And I like to be in the mountains. And I’d like to try trekking without a porter next time!
What Equipment Did I Bring?
A sleeping bag, proper shoes, snack bars, flashlight, water bottle, toilet papers. Yeah, very basic. I didn’t have a walking stick.
And finally, for people who have not trekked before, Poon Hill is very easy, cheap ($100 for 5 days) and rewarding!
For More Info: My expenses for 5-day trekking in Poon Hill
Hi there,
I am planning to do the Poon Hill trek next month and I wondered which direction you think would be easier in terms of going down hill? I have bad knees and find going down worse on my knees.
Thanks,
If you are concerned, then you should do it clockwise! It’d be better to climb up those stairs!
