I only spent less than 72 hours in Stockholm… and because my couchsurfing host lived about an hour from the city center, I had to keep my schedule loose. I absolutely had a great time in Stockholm though! And while you may or may not have a host in Stockholm, this is an itinerary mostly based on free attractions. The attractions included in this list but I didn’t actually go are marked with green color.
Stockholm in 3 Days: Itinerary
Day 1
Morning-Arriving Sweden- Cheapest way to get to Stockholm city from Arlanda airport
Evening- Hotorshallen Market (Free)
There’s plenty of restaurants in that area, and if you are interested in Chinese then you can try to locate this oriental supermarket.

Night- Söderm (Free)
If you don’t want to call it a nightyet, go to Södermalmstorg subway station and take the Katarinahissen (an abandoned elevator) for a nice view of the city!
Day 2
Morning- Subway Art Tour& Change of Guards
In the morning, enjoy good breakfast. And then hop on their public transport to see what you can discovered. There are also a few unique subway stations in case you missed out on day one (Kungsträdgården)

By 11:15, you need to be going towards the royal palace. Catch the change of guards at 12:15pm everyday.

Afternoon- Gamla Stan (Free)
Then if you plan to have lunch, Gamla Stan has many restaurants (for tourists?)

Evening-Medieval Museum (Free)
If you aren’t interested in Nobel Prize Museum in the area, then go a bit north to check out the Medieval Museum (if it’s before 7pm). Or visit the national library called Stadsbiblioteket (also before 7pm).

Night-Skogskyrkogården (Free)
In the late evening, if you aren’t exhausted you can visit Skogskyrkogården, a UNESCO listed graveyard.
