Stockholm in 3 Days- My Suggested Itinerary

I only spent less than 72 hours in Stockholm… and because my couchsurfing host lived about an hour from the city center, I had to keep my schedule loose. I absolutely had a great time in Stockholm though! And while you may or may not have a host in Stockholm, this is an itinerary mostly based on free attractions.  The attractions included in this list but I didn’t actually go are marked with green color.

Stockholm in 3 Days: Itinerary

Day 1

Whether by cruise or by plane, this is your day one. Get a Travel Card if you plan to fly.

Morning-Arriving Sweden- Cheapest way to get to Stockholm city from Arlanda airport

Afternoon- Stockholm City (Free)
Then you can walk around the city. You can see if there’s a free concert in Kungsträdgården (King’s Garden), or  take a paid tour in Stadhuset (City Hall), or check out Stadsteater (art building) just to orient yourself.
Maybe find a good place to have lunch or fika.
Or check out supermarkets in the city.

Evening- Hotorshallen Market (Free)

At about 5pm, go check out Hotorshallen Market as all the fruits go half-price after 5pm. It’s Sweden’s traditional market where you will find food and other dry food.  They close at 6pm.

There’s plenty of restaurants in that area, and if you are interested in Chinese then you can try to locate this oriental supermarket.
