The Fanciest Bakery in Saint Petersburg-The Kupetz Eliseevs Food Hall

Not every bakery worth mentioning, but this joy-filled one on Nevsky Prospect called Kupetz Eliseevs is. You will not miss this shop as it loudly steals your attention with its sugar-coated dolls.

And as a matter of fact, it isn’t just a bakery, it is also a cafe, gift shop, and to its rightful name, food hall. It feels like a palace inside with its decoration. It can actually be a candy museum.

It is just too beautiful.

There’s a coffee shop inside with some sofas. There’s also a piano which automatically plays some music.

The price for getting coffee or food isn’t cheap. But alternatively you can buy bread or pastries from its bakery section. Or from the dessert section.

Then you are entitled to sit in the shop to enjoy the atmosphere, and to take pictures. (There was a sign that says you are allowed to take pictures only when you have purchased something). And the reason why I went there twice was because the bread and pastries were really really really good.

And not only was it yummy, it was also cheap because of the current currency depreciation. The bread (top) was about 120 rubbles. And the rest was around 40-80 rubbles ($0.8-$1.6). It is surprisingly affordable! In a regular bakery in Saint Petersburg a pastry or bread costs 50 rubbles already, in this case KE is a steal.

So whether for the yummy bread or the extraordinary atmosphere, KE is definitely a place worth checking out!:)
